1 Day Down... 179 To Go....

Today was one of those days that will be etched into my mind forever. I had to leave my baby girl and return to work. I didn't even have time to cry. I was too busy worrying about every little thing that she needed for the day. bottles... blankets... clothes... binkies... stroller.... diapers... wipes... toys.... cereal... and.... and.... and..... !!! It was so bad that I missed my exit for school on the parkway.

There are so many things that I'm going to miss... If I start typing them I'm going to cry. But there is one thing that melted my heart when I got home from school. My mom was waiting outside with Grace when I got home. She was in her stroller and I came up to her and said, "Hi Gracie." Her face lit up with the cutest smile. It was all I needed to know that she would be okay and I will eventually accept being a working mommy.

I always try to look at the positives... I guess you can say I see the glass half full. The positive of me going back to work is... I'm a teacher and I only have to work 10 months until I get to be home for the summer with my baby!

Let the countdown begin :)

  2. It gets less painful, I wouldn't say easy, but at least you have family watching her now! And it's so true, getting home to that smile, makes you forget about the workday and focus on the most beautiful gift you have, your family...love you girl, if you need anything, you know who to call.
