Women's Movement... Why????

I wish I lived back in the 1950s when a woman's job was to stay home and take care of her family. Who's bright idea was it for women to go back to work? They must have been crazy. Now everything is too expensive in this country for a mom to stay home.
Today I went to drop Grace's things off at day care and meet the teacher she would be with while she is in the Brick location. Our facility in Manasquan will not be complete until September 27. Anyway I left with tears in my eyes and I had my baby with me. I can't even begin to imagine how sad I'm going to be on Tuesday when I drop her off for the day. It is heart breaking. I didn't think I was going to be like this but I am. The past two weeks my family has been watching her. I don't mind that because I know how much they love her.
Oh god... This is going to be a tough week coming up. Plus Tuesday is my birthday. What a nice present... Drop my daughter off at day care. :(
Who wants to start a new women's movement with me... We all stay home!!!!

My friend from school, Kate, took some pictures of Gracie and I in my classroom.
She wouldn't distract the students.
Wish I could bring her to work with me everyday!
How many days until summer???

  1. Oh Kelly...I know! I feel so badly for you and will feel the same way for myself in a few months. Selfish...I think not...we just love our little ones and want the best for them. I am already dreading January. I will pray that Gracie's first day is easy...it will be harder for you than for her. I am sure she will be fine. Just think of that great big smile and those beautiful blue eyes that will greet you when you pick her up. Lots of deep breaths! Please tell me all this in Jan - lol!

  2. I'm sure it'll be harder for you than her...it'll be so good for her to interact with the other kids and i'm sure she'll love it...just leave knowing that you're doing this to make HER life better, so that you can provide everything that you can for her...you're an amazing mother...love you and try and stay positive...xoxo
