Winter Storm Athena {seriously!!!}

Like Hurricane Sandy wasn't enough for New Jersey we had a nor'easter that came the following week. They are now naming the winter storms. So "Winter Storm Athena" did a nice little number on New Jersey. Just as power was being restored to many towns, this storm comes and creates more problems. More trees fell and more power lines came down. The only good thing was that the following day it was warm and the snow melted quickly. Also, it was the perfect snow to make snowmen. So we took advantage. Last winter there was no snow so Grace doesn't remember what snow looks like. The only snow she experienced was when she was 6 months and we had that huge blizzard right after Christmas.

In the morning she woke up and looked out the window and said, "WOW!!" I brought her to school and promised when she got home we would play out in the snow. I needed to go shopping for boots, hats and gloves. I definitely was not ready for our first winter storm. But I am now.

 Here I am busting my butt trying to make a snowman. The snow was so heavy!!
 The finished product. We used a sandpail for the hat, dimes for the eyes and sweeties for the nose, mouth and buttons. LOL!! We will do better next time. My mom got us this adorable snowman kit and of course I couldn't find it when we needed it.
 Snowmen and pumpkins... Hard to believe.
BTW... last christmas Tony got me the best snow boots. They are Sorels and are the best. My feet were so warm in them. I highly recommend them :)
 Then we had a snowball fight :)
 One snowman wasn't enough. We had to make one snowman for Grace and one for Lily.
My mom was over and helped us.
 Our finished products.
